Arthur’s Seat is a large hill and the main peak in Holyrood Park. In a prime location next to the Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyroodhouse it is popular place especially with walkers and joggers. You can see Arthur’s Seat from all across Edinburgh and it is quite an icon in the city. Many claim its name came from the legends of King Arthur.

Set at the bottom of the Royal Mile a walk up Arthur’s Seat will provide spectacular panoramic views of Edinburgh. It provides a great view of Edinburgh Castle and on a clear day you will be able to see right across the Forth of Firth to Fife and the Midlothian countryside. There are several routes up the hill but the simplest ascent is from the East by Dunsapie Loch.
