For a unique experience and incredible views across Glasgow check out the Titan Clydebank. This 150-foot crane was built in 1907 and played an important part in Glasgow’s shipbuilding past.

Used to lift heavy equipment in the fitting out of battleships and ocean liners including HMS Hood and the QE2, in 1988 the crane was recognised as a Category A listed historical structure. Once the industrial site closed down the area was regenerated and in 2007 the Titan opened to the public.

As well as the crane there is a small café, shop, exhibition and visitor centre which highlights the history of the Titan with models, memorabilia and photos. Once at the crane there’s no need to worry about climbing to the top, a lift takes you up the 150 metres in under one minute.

At the top, there is a viewing platform where you can take in the 360 degrees of Clydebank and Glasgow. Keep in mind it can get quite breezy at the top so it’s worth wrapping up warm.

The Titan is open every Saturday and Sunday from May to September.

Book with Citybase Apartments for your city break in Glasgow to view this incredible structure and go right to the top.
