For a stop off on your bike ride or walk head along the famous Grantchester Meadows and visit The Orchard where you can take afternoon tea sitting on deckchairs amongst the apple trees or come the colder months seated in the glasshouse. Kings College Chapel in Cambridge should be a stop on your tour particularly at evensong when you can hear the choir, and take in the atmosphere and architecture of this cathedral scale chapel. Fitzwilliam Museum is an impressive museum that only not houses a superb collection of ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian artefacts, but upstairs has a gallery of art and paintings well worth viewing and the museum is also free to visit. There is plenty to choose from when it comes to evening entertainment in Cambridge, with a lively theatre and music scene, try the Cambridge Arts Centre for a variety of theatre performances, and the Cambridge Corn Exchange hosts everything from live music, comedy and touring theatre shows. For blockbuster films you’ll find Cineworld is right opposite the apartment, and the Cambridge Arts Picture House is the place to head for independent arthouse films.
Cambridge is an easy and pleasant city to walk around, and there are plenty of cycle routes as it one of of the most cycle friendly places in the UK. There is a well connected bus network taking you around the city and further afield, the bus station can be found on Drummer Street 20 minutes walk away from the apartment. The railway station is only ten minutes walk away on Station Road, and trains leave frequently for central London. Stansted airport is less than 40 minutes drive away, with flights departing daily for destinations such as Edinburgh and Belfast.
