Set in a quiet, convenient location close to the city centre, these Aberdeen apartments are a perfect base from which to enjoy the sights and attractions in the ‘Granite City’. The prestigious shopping mile of Union Street is nearby, with designer brands and high street retailers as well as plenty of bars and restaurants, all within easy reach.
Bright and welcoming, you’ll feel at home at Fonthill Apartments, based in a private development overlooking communal gardens, this is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Finished to a high standard, with a comfortable living room, double bedrooms and a fully fitted kitchen, these apartments would suit any visitor however long you plan to stay.
There are many shopping and nightlife options along Union Street, as well as the famous Aberdeen Music Hall, a venue which sees big name bands and comedians perform every week. You’ll see Aberdeen’s impressive architecture throughout the city centre and, at the other end of Union Street, the main square of Castlegate. There is more history to discover on one of the oldest roads in the city - Shiprow, this was first mentioned as far back as 1281, this historic road leads down to the harbour and the Maritime Museum is also on Shiprow. The museum charts the city’s history with the sea and the more recent oil and energy industry that has shaped the city and contributed to its prosperity. At the east end of the harbour is Footdee, this old fishing village is a real contrast to the busy harbour around it and gives you a feel for how the fishing families lived in the early 1800’s. Aberdeen is one of the few UK cities that has a beach near the city centre, a walk along the promenade might offer the chance to see dolphins or seals if you’re lucky. Further afield beyond the city you’ll be able to experience more of what the area is famous for - championship golf courses, castles, whisky distilleries, dramatic coastline and mountains are only a short journey away and well worth it.
The centre of Aberdeen is quite compact and easy to walk around, however the city is well linked with bus routes and taxis. The train station is on Guild Street, which is 20 minutes walk away from the apartment, the bus station is on the opposite side on Union Square, and from here you can catch frequent buses to the airport which is only seven miles away. Flights leave the airport several times a day for European destinations such as London, Paris and Frankfurt.
