When to visit

Part of the Arabian Gulf, Doha’s weather is hot all year around with virtually no rainfall. So hot in fact that the Qatari summer, in between May and October, is not really recommended for tourism as temperatures reach above 40°C (104F).

The best time to visit Doha is therefore during the cooler season, from November and April, when the weather is hot but pleasant and outside pursuits and sightseeing are a bit easier.

Places to eat in Doha

Offering all the major international cuisines, you will not be short of places to eat in Doha. However, the real experience is to try the Middle Eastern cuisine, which normally involves rice, meat and vegetables seasoned with an array of spices and occasionally dates. 

Head to the market, Souq Waqif, for a taste of casual dining and street food or to The Pearl-Qatar and Katara Cultural Village for more formal restaurants and coffee shops. The latter is also home to art performance and events.
