WHAT IS A SERVICED APARTMENT?

A serviced apartment is a fully furnished accommodation that can be let out for a short or long period of time. With prices per night that are reduced the longer you stay (once a threshold is reached), a serviced apartment offers you more for your money and is also a more cost effective way to travel with family or friends.

Some key benefits are:

• With a fully furnished kitchen and living area, you have more space to relax in your personal space than you would at a hotel. With benefits of a living room and dining room too, you can cook, relax and dine without having to worry about following a schedule.

• All of our apartments include WIFI throughout the property. With maid services included, you can relax and enjoy your holiday to the maximum. Including facilities to wash and dry your laundry, you can stay at the property as long as you need without having to paying for dry cleaning or finding a launderette!

• With a nightly fee that can save you up to 40% compared with staying in a hotel, and added space for the whole family, our serviced apartments can provide you with a relaxing holiday in the centre of Berlin.

THINGS TO DO IN BERLIN

Attractions

The Brandenburg Gate

With over 200 years of history, The Brandenburg Gate is one of Berlin’s top attractions. Today symbolic of unity and freedom after the Cold War, the gate is one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks. With over one million visitors each year, the gate is famous for its large New Year’s party and lights. The Brandenburg Gate was built during the 1700s and was designed by Carl Gotthard who took inspiration from the Propylaea in Athens’ Acropolis. The gate itself is completely free to visit -however there are many tours offered for a full guide of the history that lies in its walls.

Reichstag Building

As an internationally recognised building, the Reichstag is the home of the German government. Alongside being a phenomenal building, the Reichstag is famous for its glass dome that forms its incredible roof. The glass dome offers visitors a 360 view of the surrounding area and the city. Being such a popular attraction it can become quite busy, so be sure to book your tickets online to avoid the long lines and enjoy the visit more!

Berlin Wall

What once was a symbol of division now stands as one of the most monumental places in Berlin. Built during 1961, the Berlin Wall is one of the only remaining memorials of the Cold War. Despite its terrible past, the Wall has been turned into a protected heritage site including the East Side Gallery. The East Side Gallery is a free outside exhibition. Consisting of many murals, the gallery is painted directly on 1,316 metres of the remnants of the Berlin wall. As the world’s longest open air gallery, the wall is visited by nearly one million people each year.

Food and Drink

Gasthaus Krombach

If one of your goals when visiting Berlin is to indulge in some local cuisine than look no further than Gasthaus Krombach.  With the finest German cuisine and beer around, you can dine in one of Berlin’s best restaurants without having to watch the pennies.  With Gasthaus being one of the most popular restaurants in the city, be sure to book a table ahead of time.

Shopping

There is one main place to go shopping in Berlin and it is called The Mall of Berlin. Located conveniently in the city centre, the mall is filled with shops and boutiques perfect for a shopping spree! With a modern interior and stunning design, the mall is full of big brands - known throughout Germany and other countries too.

Night life

As one of Germany’s top cities to explore, the nightlife in Berlin is just as exciting to experience. The club OHM is famously known for holding events such as TRADE, where you can find a different DJ every night; you never know what you’ll discover at this animated spot in Berlin. Located close to the centre of the city, OHM is easy to access and a great way to lose a few hours in Berlin.

TRANSPORTATION AROUND BERLIN

Walking

There are many walking tours around the city available. However, if a self-guided tour is what you’re after, there are many websites that give you a good route to follow.

Berlin Public Transport

If you plan to take more than two trips on any of Berlin’s public transport options, get a day pass as this is a more cost effective way to travel around the city. With children under 6 travelling for free, public transport makes travelling around Berlin that little bit easier.

The U-Bahn Runs every 15 minutes all night long on Fridays and Saturdays and public holidays. Throughout the remaining days there are buses that travel the same routes as the U-Bahn.  The night buses are available from 12:30 AM till 4 AM and run at 30 minute intervals, meaning you can enjoy the night for as long as you wish!
