Tried & Tested: Wembley

Tried & Tested: Wembley

Tried & Tested: Wembley

Wembley may not always get the same love as other parts of London, but that doesn’t mean it’s not full of things to do. Where would we be without the famous Wembley Stadium or Wembley Arena? Together they account for a considerable proportion of the city’s sport and music.

We recently visited Wembley Stadium for an NFL game, and had a fantastic time. It was New Orleans Saints vs. Miami Dolphins: two American Football giants, with everything to play for. The atmosphere was great, so too was the view of the pitch.

Getting there was the easiest part. Wembley Park has a total of three tube stations covering three different lines. It can also be reached by overground trains, and is equally well served by buses.

London Executive Apartments very kindly provided us with accommodation on Exhibition Way. Wembley Apartments are only a 10 minute walk from Wembley Park station, and offer free-parking as part of the guest experience. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, living area and private balcony, along with free Wi-Fi.

The best thing about this property is its amenities. You’ll be hard pushed to find serviced accommodation in London with parking, gym facilities and meeting rooms all on the same site. Wembley Apartments even have a club lounges with pool tables and terrace areas.

Keen for a bite to eat, we decided to potter on over to the London Designer Outlet shopping centre nearby. All the well-known restaurant chains can be found here including Pizza Express and Wagamama.

We settled on Cabana in the end, as the flame grilled skewers here are amazing. This Brazilian joint does great street food in a fun, informal setting, ideal for large groups or couples on-the-go. Do as we did and wash down your meal with a Brasilian Bellini or Cabana Colada from the cocktail menu - just be sure to order during happy hour.

For a short stay, we crammed in a fair bit, and will definitely be returning to Wembley soon. Replicate our trip with a visit of your own by checking out the Wembley Stadium event calendar. For more information on Wembley Apartments, click here.
