2 of the Fantastic Charities We're Supporting for 2015

This year Citybase Apartments have selected 3 very worthy local charities to benefit from our social fundraising efforts. The first was St John’s Hospice, who offer excellent palliative care in Lancaster. The second was Animal Care, a no-kill shelter charity. The third was Macmillan Cancer Support.

Here we’re going to look at St John’s Hospice and Animal Care. If you want to support a charity from your workplace, why not check out these fundraising ideas from Macmillan?

“A massive thank you to all the staff at Citybase Apartments in Lancaster who put the Fun into Fundraising over the last 12 months and raised £1000 for St. John's Hospice.”

The first is St Johns Hospice in Lancaster which cares for over 700 patients.  To raise the money, we held cake sales, dress down days, fancy dress days and did a Moonlight Walk and a Cross Bay Walk. The donation will go towards general expenses of the hospice.

Their upcoming events include the Colour Dash on Morecambe promenade, starting at VVV gym.

If you want to donate to St John’s hospice, there are plenty of ways detailed on their website.

The second is Animal Care in Lancaster who re-home over 1000 animals every year. Here's some of the Citybase Apartments team meeting the lovely Di and Abbey, and some of the pups. We donated £1,000, which will go towards a special care unit they are building.

If you want to help, they take donations via PayPal, have a charity shop in Lancaster town centre, and are always looking for volunteers to walk the dogs and play with the cats. They also have plenty of lovely animals looking for their forever homes.

Have you been fundraising this year? Who would you like to see us donate to next year?
