A Central Manchester Apartment - Staff Review
A Central Manchester Apartment - Staff Review
We have another staff stay review on the blog today – this time from Laura who recently stayed at The Works Manchester. Here’s how she got on…
I was visiting Manchester as a treat for my god-daughter. We had tickets to see Ariana Grande at the Phones4U Arena, so staying somewhere central was key. The Works was a great choice – couldn’t be more central!
The apartments are located right behind the Arndale shopping Centre so they were really easy to find, and perfectly situated for a spot of shopping or visiting the bars and restaurants at the nearby Printworks.
When we arrived at the apartments the reception staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The apartment itself was lovely. Very modern décor, with a kitchen, including tea/coffee making facilities, and TVs in the lounge and both bedrooms.
We were staying in a two bedroom penthouse apartment – which, for just the two of us, felt like a great luxury. The bonus for us was that our apartment had its very own balcony, which overlooked the city. The first thing we did was stock up the fridge and cupboards, before we had to rush out to the concert!
After the show, we made our way through the crowds of hundreds of people filtering out of the arena, and were pleased our apartments were just a quick walk away. It gave us plenty of time to enjoy the rest of our night and chill out in our apartment. I opened a nicely chilled bottle of wine and we had some snacks we’d picked up at a great little convenience store just up the hill from the apartment building. It was a really relaxed night, stress free and a great place to chill out after the screams of fans for Ariana Grande!
One of the best things about staying at The Works apartments was being able to enjoy a lovely breakfast on our balcony the following morning – looking over the city in the sunshine!
Our apartment was huge and would have been perfect for big families or a group of friends. But it could equally be a nice place to spend the evening with your partner, for a bit of luxury. We stayed on a Thursday night, and despite being right in the heart of the city and opposite the Birdcage club, there was no noise at all. Bear this location in mind for weekend stays when the city centre may be a little more lively.
