Serviced Apartments in Windsor, UK

Windsor is a beautiful, unique and historic city making it a great destination for a perfect short break. This popular tourist destination is situated only an hour from London. The city is famous for Windsor Castle; the largest inhabited castle in the world and the Queen's favourite weekend home as well as Legoland Windsor, the only Legoland park in the United Kingdom.

Legoland Windsor was built on the site of the former Windsor Safari Park. Windsor has a fantastic mixture of history, culture, heritage and entertainment making it one of England’s popular short break destinations. There are plenty more things to see and do including an organised boat trip on the Thames, Changing of the Guard and the beautiful Savill Gardens. The Castle covers an area of about 13 acres and contains some Magnificent State Apartments furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection.

It is a tradition of over 900 years to decorate the Castle from the end of November, with magical displays of traditional wreaths and garlands for the festive period. The table in the State Dining Room is set for a seasonal feast and a six metre Christmas tree from Windsor Great Park will dominate St George's Hall. Family events and activities throughout the school holidays include; trails, a children's audio guide, storytelling, dressing up in historic costume and armour, and art and craft workshops. Getting to and around Windsor has been made stress-free with two railway stations; Windsor & Eton Central railway station has a shuttle service to Slough and Windsor & Eton Riverside station provides a service to London Waterloo. Windsor also has frequent bus services to and from London Heathrow Airport, Victoria Coach Station in central London and Legoland Windsor Resort. Windsor also lies on the National Cycle Route. The main roads in the town have cycle paths or nearby traffic free cycle routes. There are many car parks which are well sign posted around the city. There is a wide selection of shops in Windsor including an independent department store, as well as Marks & Spencer, Boots and Waitrose supermarket, alongside other stores including H&M, New Look and Zara to name a few. Windsor has many cafes, restaurants, historic pubs, wine bars, and hotels with fine dining.

There is something for every taste; from Indian to South American, Thai to Italian or French to Moroccan. Take in a show at Windsor’s Theatre Royal or The Firestation Centre also has many events, including cinema, live music, theatre, comedy, workshops, dance and exhibitions. In the summer months there are live performances in some of the parks and gardens around Windsor. The Windsor Picture house also has a wide selection of recent films, classics and one-off special events. A visit to Windsor wouldn't be complete without a trip to Legoland. Legoland Windsor Resort, also known as Legoland Windsor, is a child-oriented theme park and resort. Themed around the Lego toy bricks, there are 55 interactive attractions and rides throughout the park.

Fly through the treetops to escape impressive dragons, ride the exciting rapids on a Viking Fleet, enjoy an underwater adventure with Lego divers on an Atlantis Submarine Voyage or enjoy the UK’s only Lego Star Wars Miniland Model Display. Perfect for 2-12 year olds there is something to entertain the whole family; there are live shows, building workshops, and driving schools, all set in 150 acres of beautiful parkland. Nearly 55 million Lego bricks have been used to create incredible models throughout the park. Young and old alike will be fascinated by the comical camels; fearsome fire-breathing dragons, world landmarks and musical pirates to name a few - it's amazing what has been built with Lego bricks.

All the excitement and exhilarating attractions are sure to work up an appetite. There are plenty of places to grab a quick bite to eat or quench your thirst in one of the many eateries on offer around the resort. Choose from Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, there is something for all tastes from Pizzas to Burgers, light meals or a “Full English”.
