Having a mental picture of ancient B&B type hotels in London with narrow stairs, single lifts that don't work, tiny bedrooms, ancient carpets, bad decor, the smell of rancid cooking oil, bad insulation, noisy streets, and bad heating we were concerned when booking that we would not have another of these experiences ever again. So we did quite a bit of homework on the internet to try and guard against that experience, while trying to remain in budget. We were impressed by the service we received in booking the apartment, and being met on arrival by Maria, who was extremely helpful. The apartment is spacious, airy and has a lovely view over the Thames towards Battersea Power Station. It was spotless when we arrived, and they even had a small supply of food essentials in the kitchenette to start us off. The kitchenette itself is very well appointed. Although it was mid-winter, the double glazing ensured that we hardly needed any additional heating, which was very efficient when it was switched on.
We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends.
There are a couple of 'suggestions' that we would like to make to further improve the offering:
1. Another couch or 2 easy chairs in the lounge. The one couch for 4 people doesn't really work.
2. A more comfortable sleeper couch. It is very hard, and slopes up towards the sides, making for an uncomfortable seat or bed.
3. A more comfortable bed in the main bedroom. It seemed to be extremely hard.
