Getting Around
Public transport in Singapore is efficient, ultra-modern, clean, economical and air-conditioned. There are a number of options available:
• Train – Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rapid Transit (LRT) both offer frequent services all around the city.
• Bus – an extensive network of buses operate throughout the city at all hours of the day.

Eat/Drink
Singapore is a melting pot for cuisine offering some of the most delicious foods from all around the world. There isn’t much you can’t find in Singapore but there are some local specialities that are well worth a try:
• Chilli crab – a whole crab ladled with a sticky chilli sauce. Notoriously messy to eat don’t wear white when enjoying chilli crab.
• Laksa – a fragrant soup of noodles in a coconut curry broth topped with cockles or prawns.
• Popiah – spring rolls made up of turnip, tofu, shallots, garlic, chopped omelette, long beans and optional chilli sauce that can be eaten fresh or fried.
• Satay – barbecued skewers of meat served with a slightly spicy peanut sauce.
• Satay bee hoon – rice vermicelli served in a satay sauce with cockles, dried squid and pork slices.
• Otah/Otak – fish cake made up of minced fish (usually mackerel), coconut milk, chilli and various other spices.
• Singapore Sling – sample the original famous cocktail at the Long Bar in the Raffles Hotel.
• Tiger Beer – local beer known all over the world.
