Location

There is much to see and do in the town that is regarded as the star of the French Riviera. Water sports, golf, shopping and sunbathing await with glorious beaches, fantastic golf courses and luxury shops on the doorstep. Take a short stroll along the stunning Promenade de la Croisette and visit the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès where the famous annual film festival is held. Take a short trip off shore to the île Sainte-Marguerite and explore the fortress prison where the Man in the Iron Mask was held in the 17th Century. Other places worth a visit are Le Suquet - a winding cobbled lane awash with local restaurants. Climb to the top of this lane to get probably the best view in Cannes.

Travel

There are many options for travelling to Cannes. The nearest international airport is Nice Côte d'Azur Airport which is 15 miles away. There are frequent shuttle bus and train services from the airport or alternatively you can take a taxi. You can travel to Cannes by train with TGV services between the town and many major cities. Using the Eurostar then TGV from London to Cannes will take approximately eight or nine hours.

Travelling by car is possible and takes around eight hours from Paris.

In Cannes there are good bus and local train services. You can hire just about anything from Rolls Royces and Ferraris to scooters and bicycles.
